Meet Jane Bibb - Choir Founder

Hi, I'm Jane.  In 2004 I started my first contemporary community choir in Hampshire, UK.  This quickly grew in to four large choirs, (this was before any TV choirs or nationwide choir franchises).

My choirs were always for anyone, over the age of 18,  who wanted to sing, regardless of experience.   I've always believed that everyone has a singing voice and it was my job to help them find it.

Over the years my choirs were heard on BBC Radio (more than once), appeared on ITV, performed at His Majesty's Theatre in London's West End, and were regularly asked to sing at Highclere Castle (aka Downton Abbey).   They also appeared at many local shows and events in the region, raising over £20,000 for charity along the way.

In 2020 when we went into lockdown, I switched my choir sessions online.  My singers were able to still have the choir experience thanks to the recording technology I had at my disposal (being married to a professional musician and having a studio at my disposal helped!).

After lockdown, my husband and I had the chance to work and live abroad for a few years, which we did.  I called it 'semigrating'.   We're now back in the UK and have settled in Lowestoft.

Christmas was always an amazing time with my choirs - our winter term was full of Christmas songs, both modern and traditional.  It was always such a great run up to the festive season... and I MISSED IT, so in October 2024 I set up a little Christmas Choir and from that the Lowestoft Contemporary Choir was formed.

So, if you fancy singing with a choir, come along.  All you need to bring is your voice and enthusiasm - I'll do the rest!

I look forward to meeting (and hearing) you.
